  • Alejandra Lechuga Álvarez

    Alejandra is a heritage conservator, researcher, project manager, and coordinator. She has over 8 years of experience working in the cultural heritage sector, developing and coordinating conservation projects, as an independent worker, and in different public institutions and NGO’s.

    Her work interests range from conservation, heritage, community engagement, sustainability applied to the cultural sector, social and urban development, cultural policy, photography, and management.

    She holds a BA in Heritage Conservation, with a specialization in contemporary sculpture and mural paintings, and completed an MA in International Cultural Policy and Management at the University of Warwick. Before completing her MA, she worked as project coordinator in the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and as head of external projects in the National Institute of Fine Arts, both in Mexico. Since finishing the MA she has been volunteering in Ki Culture, a culture and sustainability NGO based in Amsterdam. Fluent in Spanish, English, a little French, and learning Lithuanian.

    Participated in diverse academic forums: IX Academic Forum of science, creation and restoration (2012); Aromatic Smoke for the Gods: An Offering of Incense Burners at the Foot of the Templo Mayor of Tenochtitlán (2012).
